Can my EDIUS Projects be opened by other versions of EDIUS?

Generally speaking, you can always go "forward" in versions.  Thus an EDIUS 6 project would be able to be opened in EDIUS 6.5 and 7.  You can almost never go 'backwards'.

Common issues:  When opening a project from a previous version of EDIUS, there may be 3rd party effects that are not available in the new version of EDIUS.  This will cause EDIUS to bring up a warning screen. It will then either remove the effects or replace them with a simple dissolve.

Exceptions:  As noted above, you may never go "backwards" normally. IE: Take an EDIUS 7 project and open it in EDIUS 6.5.  However,  you CAN take a project from EDIUS 6.5 and go back to 6.0x. Functions such as information related to EDIUS 6.5 specific items as Stereoscopic editing are lost.
