Summary

If a PC has multiple GPUs – generally, Intel integrated graphcis and third party (NVIDIA), OS automatically dispatches either GPU to EDIUS programs. But this behavior may make unstable working of EDIUS (possible cause of freeze or crash).
Force dispatching Intel integrated graphics to EDIUS programs may resolve the issue.

 

Solution

Prerequisite
Upgrade all installed GPU drivers to the latest build.

Procedure
Dispatch Power saving graphics adapter (Intel integrated GPU) to EDIUS programs. Use registry file in order to do it easily. Once done, confirm that the OS is correctly configured by following the steps below:

1) Press Win + I key.

2) In search box, enter graphics. Select Graphics settings from search suggestions.

3) Confirm that ‘Power Saving (Intel(R) UHD Graphics or Intel(R) Graphics)’ is assigned to three EDIUS programs.

                                     EDIUS Rendering Engine appears only in EDIUS 11, X
