This knowledge base explains the transcription (speech to text) feature supported in EDIUS version 11.50.20742 and later.

Overview

This feature analyzes audio clips on the timeline and automatically transcribes spoken content into text. By supporting transcription of narration, interviews, and conversational audio, it helps streamline and improve the efficiency of editing workflows.

 

Main Functions

Exporting Transcribed Text to Subtitle Files
The transcribed text (hereinafter referred to as “text”) can be exported to a subtitle file (.srt). The exported file can be placed on the timeline. If editing is required, the file can be edited using VisTitle Subtitle Editor (separate installation of VisTitle is required).

Registering as EDIUS marker comment
The text can be registered as sequence marker comments. It can be registered within an EDIUS project or exported as a sequence marker file.

Generating text file
Save transcribed text as .txt file
