Use GPU acceleration for decode / encode
This knowledge base informs supported GPU acceleration in EDIUS

Decode H.264 and H.265 file

EDIUS supports Intel® Quick Sync Video for decode / encode. To use the acceleration, select Settings > System Settings > Importer / Exporter then tick “Use Hardware decoder” option

Encode to H.264 or H.265 file

Use Intel® Quick Sync Video
When you select exporter that supports Intel® Quick Sync Video (QSV), you will be able to see “Use  Hardware Encoder” option in Basic Settings pane in selected exporter. Tick the option.

Use NVIDIA NVENC (Only EDIUS X)
When you see either H.264/AVC or H.265/HEVC export tree pane, you can see “…(NVIDIA)” exporter in the right pane. If you select the exporter, NVIDIA GPU will accelerates timeline export

Decode RAW series file

If EDIUS detects supported GPU while starting, it will appear in the RAW series file GPU pane.

1) Select Settings > System Settings > Importer / Exporter

2) Select Cinemra RAW > GPU

3) Tick only higher performance GPU

4) Click [Apply] then [OK]
* You can see above steps for other series RAW file acceleration

Notes On Using GPU acceleration

1. If “Use Hardware decoder” or “Use Hardware Encoder” (or both) doesn’t appear. Try to reinstall GPU driver (latest build)
2. Ensure that your processor is 4th or later Gen of Core i Processor
3. EDIUS X always shows “…(NVIDIA)” exporter. EDIUS does not check if supported NVIDIA GPU is being installed. An NVIDIA GPU that supports NVENC is required.
