Steps to activate Upgrade / Jump Upgrade license

Prerequisite
1. Confirm earlier version’s license activation
EDIUS upgrade license requires earlier version’s license for activation. Firstly confirm that earlier version has been activated or not in GV License Manager

1. Right-click on GV License Manager icon in Windows Task Tray then choose [License List] context menu.
* If GV License Manager icon does not exist, start GV License Manager from Start > Grass Valley > GV LicenseManager.
2. License list will appear. If earlier version’s (one major version before) exists in white letters, required earlier version’s already activated. If target earlier version does not exists, GV License Manager will ask entering earlier version’s serial number to activate Upgrade / Jump Upgrade licesense
2. Remove earlier version of EDIUS
From Apps & features, remove EDIUS, Mync and GV License Manager, if currently installed version is ‘Upgradeable’ combination (see Additional Info section), remove above without ticking “Deactivate the License” option

Earlier version already activated
1. Double-click EDIUS icon on desktop.
2. GV License Manager will ask entering the serial number. Enter the upgrade license serial number then click [OK] button.
3. GV License Manager will proceed license activation. Once succeeded, eID (EDIUS ID) log in dialog will appear. Enter the ID and password then click [Log in] button.
Earlier version hasn’t been activated
1. Double-click EDIUS icon on desktop.
2. GV License Manager will ask entering the serial number. Enter the upgrade license serial number then click [OK] button.
3. You will also be asked to enter previous version’s serial number. Enter it then click [OK] button.
4. GV License Manager will proceed license activation. Once succeeded, eID (EDIUS ID) log in dialog will appear. Enter the ID and password then click [Log in] button.
IMPORTANT – Keep to activate older version’s license
To use the Upgrade / Jump Upgrade license, keep to activate older version’s license. If older version’s license is deactivated, Upgrade / Jump Upgrade license will fail.
