EDIUS X the new background render engine

FAQ ID:000022944 | Date:2022/04/15

What feature the new render engine provides?

In earlier version of EDIUS, rendering process was working inside of EDIUS application. From EDIUS X, the new render engine works in background as independent service. It provides below feature:

1. Timeline export (Print to File)
Timeline export (both normal file export & batch export). Once export process passed to the render service, operator is immediately able to operate EDIUS (e.g. continue to edit current project or edit another project)

2. File conversion
Clip registered into the Bin can be converted. The render service converts the clip file

3. Timeline rendering
Render service proceeds timeline rendering that can be selected from Render menu

4. Clip rendering
You can render clip placed onto the timeline. The service renders selected clips

5. Waveform cache creation
Render service creates .ewc2 waveform cache file

6. EDIUS proxy creation
If you switch editing mode to proxy mode and placed clip does not have EDIUS proxy, the proxy file creation task will be queued to render service

NOTE:
1. Render service will continue queued task even after quitting EDIUS application. But if you would sign off OS or switch OS account, ongoing task will be aborted.

2. Once EDIUS application restarted, aborted task will be continued.
