I would like to use EDIUS in new PC and I no longer use EDIUS in current PC. How I can move the license?

Prerequisite

– A PC that you are currently using is operable (EDIUS is operable)
– Only one EDIUS version is currently running (your PC is not the environment of simulatenous use of EDIUS)

 

Procedure

1. Backing up user presets / settings

If you want to preserve current presets / settings, back up them.

1-1. Backing up user preset
If you have user preset of effect, exporter, back up them

1-2. Backing up settings files
Back up below folder:

–  C:\Users\{USER NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Grass Valley\EDIUS
–  C:\ProgramData\Grass Valley\EDIUS

 

2. Removing EDIUS

From Apps & featurs, remove below software – depends on the EDIUS version

  EDIUS X or ealier EDIUS 11
Software should be removed

– EDIUS with ticking license deactivation option*
– Mync
– GV License Manager
* If you want to deactivate the license in off-line mode, untick the option

– EDIUS
– GV License Manager

 

3. Deactivate the license

Deactivate all licenses being activated. See below FAQ more details:

License deactivation (On-line mode)
License deactivation (Off-line mode)

 

4. Installing EDIUS

Install EDIUS in the new PC.

 

5. Restoring settings

Restore backed up settings to below location:

–  C:\Users\{USER NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Grass Valley\EDIUS
–  C:\ProgramData\Grass Valley\EDIUS

 

6. Restoring user presets

Run EDIUS and activate the license. Once done, import user presets
