This knowledge base instructs how you can confirm if your PC has the required accessibility for license validation

Terminology:

‘License validation’ covers below behavior that is done by GV License Manager

1. License activation or deactivation

2. Validate activated license. This works below timing

Starting EDIUS / Mync application
Print to file
Print to tape
Batch export
Burn to Disc
Run QuickTitler

Procedure:

1. Confirm if the application starts and works without any problem. If you can confirm it, there will not be any concern of license validation issue.

2. If any issue occurs, attempt troubleshooting

Troubleshooting:

1. Ensure that TLS1.2 is activated – details here

2. Configure Microsoft Edge then follow below steps – click here for details of Microsoft Edge configuration

NOTE:
– Step 3 and 4 are not required for EDIUS 7 and earlier.

1) Access to FlexNet portal site (https://activation1.grassvalley.com) .

2) If succeeded, the PC can connect to Flexera server. Close the window.

3) Try to log into eID web page (https://ediusid1.grassvalley.com/).

4) If succeeded, the PC has required accessibility. Log out from eID web site.

3. Restart GV License Manager including the service – details here

4. If ‘Use proxy server’ is activated in GV License Manager settings, deactivate it then configure equivalent settings in Internet Options (OS settings)

NOTE: If any troubleshooting doesn’t succeed, turn off Windows Firewall and insatalled third party anti-virus software. Once done, retry the troubleshooting
